    Default Passport expiring

    Hi all,

My daughters and I have just been granted residency into New Zealand which we are over the moon with but a sudden panic has come over me because passports aren't back yet and I have a bad feeling my youngest passport expires next July.
We are due to fly in February so does the 6 months validity rule still count if she has her residence visa label inside it?

If the passport expires within 6 months of the date you arrive in the country. I thought that was a general rule. I would be delighted if I am wrong though

If at all possible, get your daughters passport renewed early (think you can do up to 9 months) and they add it onto the expiry of the new one. Get INZ to put her visa label in the new passport. It is so much more straightforward to do it in the uk.
