Default Is there a difference between bachelor of engineering and bachelor of science in NZQA recognition?

    Hi Everyone.

Today an immigration advisor told me that it's very hard for bachelor of engineering degree to be recognized as LTSSL, only bachelor of science is easy to be done. But they can help me with that by charging $1000! It sounds ridiculous....But I do started to worry that if it is true or not??? If it is true maybe it is better for me to pay the advisor to help me with that.

    Anyone had experience?

    Many thanks!

No adviser has any special pull with INZ. That's a ridiculous claim.

This person has told you a kind of partial truth. About 18 months ago, the NZ government decided that responsibility for evaluating the content of foreign engineering degrees would not be ONLY with NZQA any longer, but would ALSO have to be looked over by IPENZ https://www.ipenz.nz/home/footer-pag...to-new-zealand. NZQA need to assess any foreign degree being put forward for an application under the Skilled Migrant Category (unless it is on the list of qualifications exempt from assessment) http://www.nzqa.govt.nz/qualificatio...ns-assessment/, to state what New Zealand Level it is equivalent to, which allows you to claim the correct basic amount of points. However, if your degree is in any kind of engineering, and you need to claim bonus points for your application under the LTSSL heading, you will find that you also have to be assessed by IPENZ. There are several very useful old threads https://www.google.co.uk/#q=site:enz.org+ipenz where people who have gone through the process explain what happens.
