    Default pss and the earthquake

Our container is due to arrive in a few days time . Due to the earthquake it is now arriving in Napier and they are trying to shift the cost of $1200 on to us! Is anyone else in this situation ? we've also got a few more bits arriving on a shared container in a couple of weeks too that no doubt they'll fleece us for too . Have to say I am not sure I would use pss again they also charged us £300 on top of everything else because the exchange rate changed .

    This is their online t&cs:

1.2.9 appears to allow them to charge you extra in these circumstances, where the event was outside of their control. I don't think they had any control over the Kaikoura earthquake, which caused extensive damage to Centrepoint (the docks) in Wellington.

Still, I would get them to justify/itemise the $1200.
