Default We will carry NZD $ 9000 per person. Is this still OK? Do we need to declare this?

    Hi everyone,
We (husband and wife) will be carrying NZD $ 9000 with each of us ( two persons ).
i.e. we will carry NZD $ 9000 per person.

Could you please see if this is still allowed? Do we still need to declare this?
The limit is NZD $ 10000 for the declaration.

    Thanks

PS: Telegraphic Transfer etc to NZ bank is costly from overseas, already tried this.

You can carry as much cash as you like. The issue is whether any one person is carrying greater than NZ$10,000 or equivalent, in which case it needs to be declared. Each of you has to make their own declaration, so if no one has more than $10000 on their person (or baggage) then no declaration.
