Arraiving NZ as a new migrant
Hi,
I have a resident visa under SMC. I would like to ask whether I have to visit any immigration entities or offices when I arrive to NZ for the first time? Is there any extra application forms to be submitted? Or nothing extra is required other than entering NZ?
Regards,
Ahmad

You go to the Immigration desk at the airport upon arrival, as everybody has to, only you can go in the NZ queue. When the official scans your passport, that automatically activates your visa and starts the clock running on your two years' travel conditions, and s/he will usually say, 'Welcome home.'

When we entered the country with our residence visa two months ago, I cheerfully told the immigration officer that "The population of New Zealand is increased by two people today" and she smiled at me! I think she liked my optimism :-)
