Default Welcome home loan eligibility - PR/Residency requirement

    Hi everyone,
I'm doing some research about options for first home buyers. There is a scheme called "Welcome Home Loan" which opens the opportunity to buy a house with only 10% deposit.
One thing is they require "You are a New Zealand citizen or permanent New Zealand resident". Has anyone here applied for this loan before?

I'm quite confused whether a "resident visa" holder is eligible for this loan? Or the applicant must hold a "permanent resident visa"?

read on in the add, it clearly says "You are a New Zealand citizen or permanent New Zealand resident (holding a ‘Permanent Resident Visa’)."

Thanks Chris Seem like I ought to consider houses in the Hutt Valley and Wainuiomata. House price in Wellington City is also quite expensive now.
