Post Essential skill visa-work and income

    hi
i am currently in NZ on job search visa and i am working as CNC machine setter in a wood manufacturing industry.I have done operation Mgmt level 7 here in New Zealand and by trade i am a Mechanical Engineeer done in India and my NZQA assessmenet results Level 7.{mechanical diploma +degree combined as Level 7)
My concern is can i apply essential skill visa based on my mechanical engineering.
Do i need to show any experience in this field?{i don't have any in this field, but as a design engineer of 0-1 year)
is it necessary to show skill match report for this job from Work and income?
Can a Mechanical engineer works as Cnc machine setter in Wood industry?
What are other special requirements for this visa and what are the chances of getting this visa to me.

What sort of job search visa is it that you have?

Looking here https://www.immigration.govt.nz/new-...ZL&applying=no under Availability of New Zealanders, I find
a Skills Match Report from Work and Income New Zealand - your employer must supply this if the work they're offering you is low-skilled
and the link to explain 'low-skilled' says
An occupation classified as skill level 4 or 5 on the Australian and New Zealand Standard Classification of Occupations (ANZSCO).
ANZSCO http://www.abs.gov.au/ausstats/abs@....Trades+Workers (I presume this is what would cover your work?) rates it as a Skill Level 3 job.

So Its a skill level 3 job ,means i don't need a skill match report, right?
An advertisement would be sufficient. As a mechanical engineer can i show this position for a wood industry?

I haven't got an exact answer to give you.

In general, as long as what a person does at work matches the job description given at ANZSCO - in your case, this http://www.abs.gov.au/ausstats/abs@....Trades+Workers - it doesn't matter what the company's end product is.

And I don't know what NZ Register Level 4 qualification would normally be held by someone doing your job, though. Maybe your boss, or colleagues, could tell you? Would it normally be something specific about working with wood, or would it be focused on working on the machinery?

If you can't get solid answers from the company, you should probably talk to INZ about your individual circumstances.
