Default What type of work visa

    Hi there,

This is my first proper post so if i'm in the wrong place please feel free to point me in the right direction. Myself and my partner are hoping to emigrate at some point, at the moment we are just saving money until we are ready to start the process (in about 9 months hopefully). I am in charge of 3 guys on a training team at a sofa manufacturers, so the type of work is frame building and upholstery. Qualification wise I have an ILM level 3 and will have my NVQ level 3 by the end of the year, along with 13 years experience. My first question is, what type of visa would suit my line of work? and would I need a job offer before seeking out a visa? any feedback would much appreciated.

    Thanks.

https://www.immigration.govt.nz/new-...ills-work-visa or https://www.immigration.govt.nz/new-...residence-visa are both temporary work visas. See the criteria button at the bottom of each page to see what you would need to show to be eligible for either visa.

Looking at the INZ skills checker, I have found 'upholsterer' mentioned as a skilled job in demand (immediate skills shortage list), but it requires two years' post-qualification experience. http://skillshortages.immigration.govt.nz/upholsterer And here http://www.abs.gov.au/ausstats/abs@....3+Upholsterers is the ANZSCO page, showing what the job offered needs to involve to meet INZ requirements.

would I need a job offer before seeking out a visa?
    Yes, you would.

Working Holiday visas initially if you are under 30?
