Default How many points for Work experience

    Hi ENZ team,

Please let me know the maximum points that can be claimed for the below case:

Assume that the candidate is not employed currently.

    1) 11 years of Software Development and Testing experience, IT field (outside New Zealand)

    2) Points for Long term Skill shortage

    3) Bonus points for Long term skill shortage

    4) Points for Absolute skill shortage

    5) Bonus points for Absolute skill shortage
    ---------------------------------------------------
    As per my calculation:

    1) 11 years of Software Development and Testing experience, IT field (outside New Zealand)
    Ans: 30 points

    2) Points for Long term Skill shortage
    Ans: 0 points

    3) Bonus points for Long term skill shortage
    Ans: 0 points

    4) Points for Absolute skill shortage
    Ans: 15 points

    5) Bonus points for Absolute skill shortage
    Ans: 0 points

    Total points: 45

Is the above calculation correct, if otherwise correct me.

    Thank you in advance.

    Regards,
    Keyvee

    Hi Keyvee,

You will not be able to claim below unless you have any qualification that is listed in LTSSL.

    4) Points for Absolute skill shortage
    Ans: 15 points

    Thank you.

Yes, I have qualification that is listed in LTSSL(IQA NZQA done equivalent to Level 9) also I have Level 8 qualification from University of Auckland.
Thus, I can claim 15 points.

Is there any other conditions(other than is listed above)....to claim that 15 points?

You are good with your work experience points as it sounds ok as per the operation manual. All the best with your application.

As Chris says, please do not answer immigration questions without referring to publicly available regulations which apply to the point asked about. ENZ is NOT LEGALLY ALLOWED to provide immigration advice. https://www.enz.org/forum/showthread.php?t=51538

Regarding the LTSSL list for your career - which I assume is covered by this heading http://skillshortages.immigration.go...per-programmer - click on the Long Term Skills Shortage List, and the drop-down box shows the requirements. Notice, you need to have a qualification that has been declared by NZQA (in an IQA) to be comparable to one of the NZ qualifications listed, and a degree of a higher level does NOT supersede that requirement. Or else you need IPENZ assessment.
