    Unhappy Labelling Resident visa on a New Passport

    Hello..

    We obtained resident visa in March 2016. However, my spouse is in trouble of meeting the travel conditions as he has lost his passport recently. He has to be in NZ before 11th March 2017 to meet the travel conditions. Can some one please reply me on following;
    1. If we provide a new passport, is there a procedure to label the same visa on new passport?
    2. Is there a possibility of getting an extension for the travel expiry date if we communicate this to CO now (almost 4 weeks are remaining for expiry)?

    From my experience, your partner will have to obtain a new passport having reported the old one lost. He will then have to fill in form INZ1023 'Application for Transfer or Confirmation of a Visa' and send it to INZ along with the appropriate fee (as detailed in the Office and Fee finder section).

    It is my understanding that the travel expiry date is set in stone and cannot be changed so he must be in New Zealand by that date or the visa will become invalid.
