Default Confused - do I need medical yes or no

    HI,

I dont know if I have to provide the General Medical (GM) or not. Here is my situation:

I`ll stay 7 Months in NZ based on long-term Visitor Visa. I am German and have never stayed in a country with TB risk.
For this case the INZ homepage clearly states that there is no need to provide GM if I dont stay 12+ months in NZ(*)...but:

The application says one may has to provide a GM when staying 6+ months and in the next section the only box where you can check "no GM needed" says the following:
[_] no need for GM because:
    • I have already provided a GM and it`s not older than 36 months, AND
    • my health has not deteriorated, AND
    • I didn`t spend time in a country with TB risk

...so I am worried about the "AND", because only the last two apply to my case.
It is in Section E10 in INZ 1017 http://www.oir.pku.edu.cn/data/upload/57639174ca2dd.pdf

So what do I need to do? Leave all the boxes empty? Check the box regardless of the notes below?

Help is very appreciated. Thank you very much

I think the system cannot take account of your intention to stay for only 7 months in all - the computer 'assumes' that, since you're asking to extend your visitor's visa, you may finish up staying 12 months, which requires a medical. That being the case, if you're applying online, you will have to provide a medical to satisfy the criteria. DO NOT TICK A LIE - this is a legal document you are submitting. If anyone is found to have made an untrue statement, this can be interpreted as fraud, and can stop them getting any visas in the future.

It's possible that, if you ask INZ about this, there may be a way round it using a paper application form. You can ask. I don't know what their answer will be.

    Thank you very much!
I have to submit a paper based application anyway since I include dependent children. So when they see the plane tickets we have to provide as well they`ll see that its only for 7 months. Hence no GM is needed (according to the INZ-homepage). But still that doesn`t give me a clue what box to tick or if I shouldn`t tick anything. And of course you are absolutely right with the DO NOT TICK A LIE.

In the FAQ section of INZ it states that if you stay 6-12 months you might have to provide chest X-ray (if spend time in TB risk country). Point is that the GM is not even mentioned. See here http://kb.immigration.govt.nz/item/1065

And on the webpage of INZ it says:
When not to get a medical examination
You’ll be staying for less than 12 months

If you’ll be staying in New Zealand less than 12 months, you don’t need to have a medical examination unless:

    • you’re applying for an RSE Limited Visa
    • we ask you to have one.

SO I called INZ - no medical needed in my case. They told me to write a cover letter mentioning that I`ll stay only 7 Months (confirmed by copies of plane tickets)
