Can anyone suggest if what specifically ielts should i take that IPENZ required?
Is it General Training (GT)? or
Academic (Acad)?

I haven't gone through the IPENZ process. Thus, I'm not aware as to the required ielts module, but for the purpose of SMC and other visa applications requiring the production of english proficiency report, the nz immigration endows you the sole prerogative of choosing between a general or academic. I'm lazy to search for the specific and official discussion about this, but you can peruse the FAQ on the website of nz immigration involving the English requirement.
