For anyone that stumbles on this thread, based on another post somewhere we contacted a company called Pet Relocation (https://www.petrelocation.com) about moving our two dogs from the U.S. west coast recently. The estimate was US$6,600 not including the required 10 days quarantine boarding fees. We can't vouch for their services but their email responses to our various questions were very good. Here is their outline:
FWIW that's pretty close to what we paid to ship two cats from the U.S. to NZ when we first emigrated years ago. We used Qualified Pet Services (QPS - http://www.qualifiedpet.co.nz) just outside of Auckland back then. (When quarantine was 30 days!Thank you for your email! I would be happy to provide a quote for our services.

For our services, we are looking at an estimate of $6,600 USD for the move to Auckland.
This does not include the cost of quarantine or destination services. I'd recommend reaching out to a local quarantine facility such as Pet Haven or QPS to facilitate destination services.) They were terrific.
Hope that helps!
Cheers,
Rich
