    Default immigration help

    hey guys,
im hoping things have got easier since i went through the nightmare of getting visas for nz..
i live in nz.. have done for 15 years..i've been in contact with a woman from germany for 6 months and she wants to come to nz.

so... we havent lived together, have no joint accounts etc. we have proof of electronic communication and a couple of letters. no criminal records and she doesnt work in any of the job shortage jobs.. just two genuine people in their 40s who think they are right for each other that want to give it a go.

im no mug.. and would see through a scammer.... and believe me ive met a few, so i tell the truth when i say we are genuine but things arent that simple with nz immigration.

can you please tell me if we have any chance of being together.. and if there is a way please tell me.

i am self employed and in need of a secretary/organiser.... could i employ her ? < just thinking of ways to play the system..

    thanks in advance.

Through the work visa route, the lady would need to have skilled qualifications and a job offer to match, so the possibilities are limited. https://www.immigration.govt.nz/new-...ills-work-visa

You would not be able to use the partner-sponsored work visa option yet, because you have not lived together. However, that is a visa worth checking out. https://www.immigration.govt.nz/new-...s-visa-holders Notice that your partner would be able to apply for this visa once there is evidence that you are living together. We know from experience that INZ take such applications seriously with around 2 - 3 months of evidence, and here https://www.google.co.uk/#q=site:enz...tnership+proof are old threads with discussions and examples of partnership proof. This visa allows a person to take any job at all, skilled or not, but they don't have to work if they don't want/need to. It depends solely on the partnership, and doesn't need any proof of qualifications or work experience.

Your lady could travel to NZ as a visitor. https://www.immigration.govt.nz/new-...et/visa-waiver If she holds a German passport, that entitles her to visa-waiver entry - that is, she would only have to fill in a card on the plane just before landing. A valid reason for entering as a visitor is "look, see and decide" (and having a holiday) which means she's intending to look around and see what life in NZ and the job market is like, to decide if she wants to try to make a go of it. If she puts that on her form, she is being open about the fact that she MIGHT want to stay long-term. This is important, because INZ can regard any misleading statement to them as fraud, after the event.

Once in NZ, if you're still content about moving in together, then you could start collecting evidence as soon as possible. Your lady could put in an application for the visa towards the very end of the life of her visitor's visa, at any time while her visitor's visa is still valid. There is no need to leave time for processing, because INZ can automatically issue an interim visa https://www.immigration.govt.nz/new-...t/interim-visa to keep her legal, as long as she was legal at the time of application.

If granted the partner-sponsored work visa, an applicant can keep on collecting evidence, and with 12 months'-worth, can apply for partner-sponsored residence. By the way, it is normal that INZ ask for more partnership proof just before issuing any visa, checking that they are not giving a visa to someone whose relationship has broken down in the meantime.

I see you are new here, because you have missed seeing our threads about this topic.

We have been in discussion with the authorities, including the Immigration Advisers Authority, about our situation. We are allowed to point out publicly available information which may apply to someone's question, such as links from the INZ website and operational manual, and also other people's experience. We are not allowed to tell someone what they OUGHT to do, and their actions must remain their own decision.

Nice way to promote your services, if you don't mind me saying that...

It is always interesting to see the different approach of people- there is at least one licensed immigration advisor active on here, but he usually replies within people's threads unless it is too complex...,pretty easy to just point to a private message, isn't it.

Sorry, sounds harsh, I know, but there re a lot of people putting a lot of effort into this forum (amongst them JandM), and without budging in without having done any research just annoys me
