Hi All,
Actually I have just submitted my documents to receive IPENZ letter regarding the job experience and qualification bonus points.
Today one of my friends told me that since I live and work in NZ in a skilled job I don't need such letter to use bonus points.
I have been in NZ for 3 years and been working as a engineer for around 1 year and my qualification is matched with my current position.
I checked the INZ website again and found the following rules:
I have a qualification in an area of absolute skills shortage
If you're invited to apply for residence, the evidence we'll ask you to provide will depend on whether or not you have skilled employment in an area of absolute skills shortage in New Zealand.
If you're already working in or have been offered skilled employment in New Zealand, we'll ask you for evidence that your qualification is the reason you have the specialist, technical or managerial expertise necessary to do your work.
If you don't have skilled employment, we'll ask you for evidence that you meet all the ‘bonus point requirements' listed for your occupation on the Long Term Skill Shortage List.
I work in an area of absolute skills shortage
If you're invited to apply for residence, we'll ask you to provide evidence that:
your work is in an occupation that's on our Long Term Skill Shortage List (this should be covered in your employment agreement)
you have the qualifications, work experience and/or occupational registration to work in your occupation detailed in the Long Term Skill Shortage List.
I am really confused. Would you pls let me know if anybody was in this situation before?
Thanks in advance for your help.
