    Default Transferring NZ Resident Permit on to New Passport

    Hello All

    I have a query and might be anyone of you can help me out.

    I have a temporary Resident Permit (of 2 years) and I would like to transfer into my new passport.
    My question is

    Initial 2 Years have passed, I am not in NZ anymore. Am I still be able to transfer into new passport.
    Second it is written valid period: infinity date. So what it means and am I still be able to transfer into new passport. even I have traveled once and initial 2 years have passed and i am not in NZ at the moment.

    There is no such thing as temporary Residence. Your Residence visa WOULD HAVE lasted for ever WHILE you were in NZ. With it, you had two years' travel conditions, which have now long since expired. And as you were out of the country when that happened, and did not at the time do anything about getting an extension of travel conditions which would have allowed you to go back into NZ, your Residence visa has expired also.

    If you did not go back to NZ before your travel conditions lapsed in May 2016, then you will not be able to apply for a Second or Subsequent Resident visa https://www.immigration.govt.nz/new-...-resident-visa.
