English language requirement for residency under Partnership category

Hi guys,
My husband is a nz resident under Skilled Migrant Category since June 2015. We knew each other from Oct 2015 and got married and I moved in with him to nz from March 2016. I was on visitor visa under general category as we did not meet living together condition and then after I moved here i got work visa under partnership category. Now I'm looking forward to apply to resident Visa under Partnership Category...do I need to write IELTS test?i have not worked or studied in nz but I did my schooling and University in english in india . Please help me
