    Default special direction at airport?

Hello, my friend was denied entry; we're in a waiver country and he didn't know there was a rule about people with prior convictions. His conviction was a long time ago and he is a completely different person now. He's waiting in an interrogation room and is going to be sent home after wasting thousands of dollars on flights etc. I read about the possibility of a special direction and just wondered if there's any way he could get one now while he's in the airport, if people like me send in references immediately? Please let me know any info asap if you can. Thank you.

No, special directions take months and come from either the Minister of immigration or very senior immigration officers after proper consideration of all relevant information.
No one based at the Airport has the authority to consider the required information.

    I assume this applies?
