Default Buying a house on skilled migrant resident visa

    Hello,

I just want to inquire if it is possible to buy a house on a skilled Migrant Resident Visa as it allows one to stay in NZ indefinitely or must a person be a permanent resident which can only happen after 2 years.

    Kind Regards

Apart from certain rural properties, there is nothing to stop a person with nothing beyond a visitor's visa from buying a house in NZ if they can finance it. So yes, a Resident can buy. http://www.conveyancingshop.co.nz/fo...p-of-property/

Options for getting mortgage finance for a property can depend on the status of your visa. Even having or not having travel restrictions can make a difference.
