My girlfriend was denied a patnership visa and was advised by INZ to apply for a 9 month visitor visa so that we could continue living together.
We have been together constantly for 3 years including 2 years in New Zealand living in a house that is owned by me. And the rest of the time in Europe, flying twice round the world with each other.
She had to do a limited medical certificate for the partnership visa and now requires a general medical for just the 9 month visa. For the limited medical she was referred to a specialist who came back with a clear report.
Due to the amount of time taken (6months since the first partnership application) and the cost of a general medical we think it is best for us to withdraw the application for a 9 month visa and reapply under the partnership category but are slightly concerned that they will just ask for a General medical certificate anyway with the new partnership application. Is that a genuine concern? Or are we just having a bad experience? They are very reluctant to give us any information about the status of the limited medical certificate and have us corresponding with a technical advisor!
