Default No Stamp in passport on arrival

    Hi

My daughter has just arrived in NZ for a holiday on a EU passport, but they never stamped her passport at immigration, which we both thought was very unusual. We are wondering if this will effect her at all on her departure.

    Thanks

    The passport was presumably scanned?

"SmartGate, or eGate as it's known as in many parts of the world, is a fast and easy way to self-process through passport control. We have facilities at Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Queenstown airports for arriving and departing passengers.

You can use SmartGate if you are a New Zealand, Australian, UK, US, and Canadian ePassport holder over 12-years-old. All you need is your ePassport. You will still need to complete a Passenger Arrival or Departure Card."

So if she used this, there will be no stamp. its all recorded electronically.

Thank you so much JandM and ChrisMwn, when I asked this morning, she did indeed scan her passport. A good tip to remember, if you want the stamp don't scan!
