No, UK qualifications are not exempt from the need for recognition. Check with the INZ list about exemption. http://onlineservices.immigration.go...nual/35274.htm

Hello and thank you for reply. I've looked it and that is what I don't understand. Anyway, you are probably right so I will have to ask NZQA for recognition. If I will do it now, how long is that recognition valid for? Should I do PAR or an IQA?

I have just been looking at the INZ skills checker http://skillshortages.immigration.go...d-care-worker/, and I see that child care is not a job that is on any of the required lists in New Zealand. So your qualification can't get you any points towards a visa.

If you already have this job in NZ, and it meets all the requirements as listed on the ANZSCO list http://www.abs.gov.au/ausstats/abs@....upport+Workers, and so do your qualifications, then you could claim the points for Skilled Employment in NZ when putting in an EOI. (You would need 160 points at least for your EOI to be selected.)

But notice, this job is not on any of the Essential Skills in Demand lists, so no bonus points are available.

If you wanted to get a temporary work visa on the basis of this job once your open visa expires, it would be difficult, because employers have to try to find NZers available before supporting a foreign worker. https://www.immigration.govt.nz/new-...ills-work-visa See here https://www.immigration.govt.nz/empl...al-skills-visa for the instructions to employers about what they have to prove they have done to try to find a NZer. As you'll see, it's much more difficult when a job is not on the Essential Skills lists.

With my qualification I should have exactly 160 points but main thing is my qualification which is from UK and I am not sure if and how to recognise it over here.

This quote tells that your qualification is of about the same level as a GCE A-Level pass.

    Comparing QCF with other qualifications

The title of a qualification should indicate its difficulty, how long it will take the average learner to complete, and its general content, using the following information:

Qualification level (from lowest, entry level to level 8 at the top)
    Qualification size (award/certificate/diploma)
    Content of the qualification

The title of a qualification you will enable you to judge the degree of difficulty, how long it will take the average person to complete and a good idea of the content.

To illustrate the level of difficulty of the units and qualifications in the new framework OFQUAL states that that GCSEs (grade A*–C) are at level 2, GCE A levels are at level 3, a Bachelors Degree would be at level 6, a Masters Degree at level 7 and a PhD is a level 8.
    http://immigrationmatters.co.uk/nvq-...explained.html

GCE A-Level, as you know, is the end-of-secondary schooling qualification.

The ANZSCO listing for a residential care officer http://www.abs.gov.au/ausstats/abs@....upport+Workers says that a NZ Register diploma (Level 2) is expected.

Here http://www.abs.gov.au/ausstats/abs@....1?opendocument you will see the ANZSCO levels explained. You'll see there that Skill Level 5 is the level expected at the end of compulsory secondary schooling. UK A-Level is probably a bit higher than that, but it isn't up to a Level 2, where it mentions things like 'associate degree'.

What all this comes down to is that I'm afraid your UK qualification is not going to get you points towards an EOI.

You may count as qualified for the job if you can show that you have five years' relevant work experience, as the skills checker says. http://skillshortages.immigration.go...-care-officer/

Well... Then I will have to apply on the base of my experience.
