Requirements for Mortgage
My wife and I are looking at moving to New Zealand by the end of this year. We have a house to sell (shouldn't be a problem) and would look at buying a house soon after moving. We will be staying with relitives upon arriving and was wondering how the mortgage situation stands. Can we get a mortgage soon after arriving (assuming I have a job) and what would the restrictions be?
I'm 48, she is 32 and we have a 14 week son.
I don't want the fact of not being able to buy a house be a problem.
Thank you ✨✨✨

Well I think they would want at least around three months evidence of earnings usually; however it's up each bank whether they would strictly require that; their main concerns are sufficient deposit (usually minimum 20%) and sufficient earning capacity.
