Default What is considered to be residency

What under NZ immigration rules will be considered as having residency?
Any skilled visa longer than two years or must you have actual residency?
I want to sponsor someone coming here on a visitor visa, will I be allowed to do this if I have a 3 year skilled migrant work visa?

Its better to consult a legal advisor in this regards, but as per my knowledge 3 year skilled migrant work visa cannot be considered as residency, however you are still be able to sponsor someone on visitor visa. especially if that someone is your family/blood relation or may be friend.

but its better if you take legal advice or wait for J and M to reply.

Residency means being the holder of a Residence visa. This is INZ talking about the requirements for being a sponsor. https://www.immigration.govt.nz/new-...table-sponsors You can see that in some situations, even being a resident isn't enough.
