Cool National security check for residency visa application

    Hi,
Does anyone know how long it takes to receive information about someone for National security check?

I have applied for residency visa, but the current situation is that immigration is waiting for the information regarding me from National Security check to arrive before they can make the final decision,

There is no definite answer to give you. It takes as long as it takes, and the INZ CO cannot proceed with working your case until the reply comes back.

I have been waiting since February, 2017. BUT, where will they get all these reply? From overseas or inside New Zealand?

Hi JandM, does that mean that they will not check information from NZ?

INZ check NZ information. NSC checks information about when you lived and/or worked abroad in one of the 'trigger' countries.

Thank you for your response. Ifor you would not mind........which countries can be said to be "trigger" just to clarify a bit.

That's right. It is not publicly said - it just happens.
