    Default [INZ News] Changes to Onshore Applications (SMC and Family)

    For those who have no CO allocated yet...

    From April 2017, all onshore Family Residence and Skilled Migration Category applications will be processed in Auckland as part of Immigration New Zealand's centralisation of the New Zealand Residence Programme.

    Ah ha - everything "onshore" moving to Auckland, huh? So no change to the international branches...

    Oh WOW.

    "Hey guys, we have a backlog of unassigned cases, some from as far back as July 2016 in Auckland. We propose to now include applications from the whole country to be chucked in with this mess. Any questions?"

    "Bu-but what about the massive backlog?"

    "So no questions then. Sold!"

    What I am most keen about is the last sentence. I hope they make it a goal to be more consistent with this.

    Applicants or Advisers/Lawyers will be notified when their application has been allocated to an immigration officer.
