Hi
May I ask, why did they decline your residence application? How long have you been living together?
Hi Jstonley,
Sorry to hear that.
For making an appeal to IPT it generally takes 7 months roughly, it might be quicker that is mentioned on their website.
If you don't mind me asking can you please tell for which position you had applied residency?
Regards,
There is a massive wealth of good information to be learned by reading through the tribunal cases here:

Wish you the best!
Sorry for the late reply. I applied under ICT Customer Supper and Technical. I work in telecoms and do a data support role. All my work colleagues have had their residency approved but when it came to my case officer he asked my manager about my role and he mentioned non technical aspects of my role. My case officer said he wasn't happy so I wrote 8 pages of arguments. My manager also write 8 pages explaining my job in more detail ad it was still declined because my manager had mentioned in one part of his answers that I spend 50% of my time doing technical roles. This was incorrect reporting from my manager and we tried to answer this but it was declined. I have considered appealing by my lawyer is really slow to reply and I am not filled with much confidence. I'm considering cancelling my appeal and moving to Christchurch. The reason I want to move is because now I need 160 points and they rejected my degree so I need the extra 30 points. Also if I wait until after the appeal if finished I won't have time for another plan because my visa will have expired and the law changes in August. I've been offered a job in our Christchurch office and I think it might be better if I re-apply with the new position. I've been in NZ for 7 years now and face going back to UK if I can't secure residency. I just don't think my lawyer is doing a good job and I am not feeling confident he will win the appeal.
One question. I've been offered a job in Christchurch with my same employer. I am currently on essential skills work visa. I know I can't do VOC so my lawyer suggested I lodge EOI on my job offer as he said i can lodge an EOI with just an offer. He said once selected I can apply for a work visa. He said I have ore chance of this being approved than applying for the work visa first. Does this sound right?
I think what he's referring to is that the employer doesn't have to prove they tried (and failed) to recruit kiwis for your job IF you already hold an ITA. So if you have 160 points and get sent an ITA, the Essential skills visa process is a bit easier.
That's what I gather, anyway.
Hi everyone
My residency application is declined. Now I am thinking to lodge an appeal. Anyone here knows a good lawyer?
Thanks
reason why decline?
