Default Student Visa Source of funds

    Hi All,

My wife is planning to study in NZ in wellington, and I am planning to apply for work visa based on that. I am little scared if my wife will get her student visa because of her source of funds. The total funds required is $35,000 (Fees & FTS) and the break up is as follows.

    Personal Loan (PL) $28,000
    Gold Loan(GL) $ 6000
    Employee Provident Fund (EPF) $3000
    Savings (S) $ 2000

The above-mentioned funds are in my account for the past 3 months. Her course starting in June'17. I am not sure if I should apply now or wait for another 3 months and apply for September course because funds will be 6 months old by then. The reason I am thinking about the tenure of funds is because I guess they do not consider personal loan as a source of funds.

Which country are you from? Do you and your wife have a job in your country before you came to NZ? If you are from high risk country, INZ is likely to want to see you hold the funds for longer period.

I am not sure what your question is. Has she been already enrolled in NZ uni?

I am from India and have applied for student visa in the past (approved).... If I were in your situation, I would have applied right away but with all proper documentation/proofs of where that money came from etc.. etc.. as far as I understand immigration wants to know whereabouts of funds, if there are large cash/bank deposits... hope it all makes sense ?

And if you are opting for FTS, I don't think you need to have old funds: https://www.immigration.govt.nz/new-...ransfer-scheme

    Harryj,

Thanks for the information. Is personal loan accepted for paying the course fee?
