    Default Silver Fern Visa

    Hi,

I am a NZ resident and my partner is in NZ on a work search visa/ silver fern visa (from Russia) with only a few weeks to go until it expires.
I was wondering if anyone is able to help provide some information on options in extending this and what other options there are to enable them to stay in NZ.
They have been unsuccessful in finding employment from the skilled list and so need to look at other options or ways to extend it or if there is any way to get a partner visa or what requirements there are to do this or any tips and pointers or anything anyone has had experience or success with.

Any help would be truly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

Here is the visa factsheet about the partner-sponsored work visa. https://www.immigration.govt.nz/new-...s-visa-holders See the Criteria tab near the bottom of the page for details required by INZ. Also see these old threads https://www.google.co.uk/search?site...k1.ps3qiOfArk0 for discussion and examples of evidence of partnership.

Resident or citizen, it doesn't matter. Both can sponsor a partner for this visa.

It doesn't get announced far in advance, and it's not absolutely regular. The date will appear on this page https://www.immigration.govt.nz/new-...arch-work-visa when INZ are ready.
