Smile Question about claiming work experienced linked points for SMC

    Hi everyone,

This question is for a friend:

He has an overall work experience of 14+ years in Mumbai working in call centers which included processes like tech support and banking related activities. While he worked as a team member, he directly provided tech support as a team member for approx 9 months. Later in the years, in a different company, he worked as a team leader managing a team which provided technical support for mobile customers.

After few years, he again worked in a different company having joined as a team lead and progressed to the level of a manager, which involved managing a team that provided partial tech support to customers.

My question is: Will this qualify as work experience in terms of skilled employment, even though he was indirectly provided tech support through my team members, although earlier he directly interacted with customers in the initial part of his career? FYI, he was also involved in training all his team members to help them in their roles.

Also, PAR result shows level 7 for a commerce degree - hence he is not sure if he can claim points for that or if his direct or indirect involvement in providing tech support to customers or claim points for only the overall work experience in call centers which included financial processes (mortgage, equity markets etc), tech support for computers, mobile devices etc.

    Any inputs will be appreciated.

    Thanks!

What INZ would consider relevant work experience would vary, depending on what evidence he can show from past employers about the exact nature of his responsibilities. http://onlineservices.immigration.go...nual/30545.htm See SM7.10 and SM7.15.

Unfortunately, PAR is not at all reliable as an indicator. NZQA just go by the name of the qualification as entered by the applicant on the form. For the proper application, the IQA is required. That investigates the course leading to the qualification - what topics were covered, for how long, and to what depth. That information is then compared with courses currently running in New Zealand. The first investigation decides what Level the foreign qualification can be awarded, and the second, what it is stated to be comparable with. These outcomes can be totally different from what came up at PAR.
