Anyone applied for residency through NZ partner from the UK

Hi I'm looking for information/ timelines from anyone who has applied for residency as a partner of a NZer from the UK. Who really like to hear from anyone who has applied since the rules changed and you had to send your application to Manukau. I applied 8 months ago and have received an email saying I've been approved in principle but haven't been asked to send passports in yet. Do I have to wait to receive an email or letter telling me to do this?

Yes. It is normal to get the so-called AIP email with instructions as to where to send your passport. These days, some of these are taking four or five weeks after the AIP notification (or more often, change of status online).
