Default Essential Skills work visa renewal

    Hi guys,

I'm about to renew my work visa but would like to ask if my employer needs to advertise for my position? He already advertised the position last year on December in Seek. Can we show this as proof instead? What other supporting documents that my employer needs?

Also, if we are required to advertise again, do we need to advertise at WINZ? My skill level is at ANZCO level 1 so I don't think we need to but someone has mentioned this to me and I want to make sure.

Lastly, I have no current residence application nor do I have any recognized qualification on the LTSSL that will exempt my employer from advertising the position.

    Thanks!

You and your employer will need to follow all the instructions for an Essential Skills Work Visa application https://www.immigration.govt.nz/new-...-visa#criteria, just as if it were the first time of applying. INZ will not assume that the situation is still the same as a year ago.

A WINZ report is mandatory for Skills Levels 4 and 5. https://onlineservices.immigration.g...nual/45676.htm

Whether your skill is at Level 1 or 2 in ANZSCO your employer has to advertise the job and genuinely recruit suitable NZers to fill in the position either readily trainable or suitably qualified by experience and/or qualification
    https://www.immigration.govt.nz/new-...-visa#overview

Unless you meet the qualification standard/criteria like cerificates you gained from New Zealand set undet that LTSSL, Skills In Demand List, ISSL then your employer has the option to advertise or not.

    Thanks JandM and gcapd.

Today, my employer has posted a job advertisement on TradeMe. So I guess I just need to wait for two weeks before I can proceed with my work visa application?

    Thanks again!

The duration of the vacancy advertisement depends whether it is low skilled or high skilled job base on ANZSCO.

For highskilled level 1-3 it has to run for 2 weeks
For lowskilled level 4-5 it has to run for 1 week including a Skills Match Report from Work and Income which I believe will be up for 5 days
