Work Visa based on Contract (IT: Information Technology) Job

Dear members,

Can any one please explain the outcome of the following situation:

An organization is ready to offer 6 months(Information Technology) contract role from Aug 2017 to mid of Feb 2018 (6 months)
However Graduate work search visa is valid till mid of October 2017.

Will the work visa be extended till Feb 2018 ?

No, those visas have a 12-month limit. https://www.immigration.govt.nz/new-...work-visa-open The person would need to apply for a different visa to cover them for that job.

Based on my search, I found 2 types of visas are applicable, they are:

a) Essential Skills Work Visa
b) Post Study Work Visa Employer Assisted

1) Is there any other visa applicable based on the above said scenario?
2) Among the listed (a,b) visas, which one is better suitable as the full time contract job offer is for 6 months.
