Default Bonus points for absolute skills shortage on the new policy

    On this official document:
    http://www.mbie.govt.nz/info-service...t-category.pdf

It gave an example of a software engineer who has no qualification but was able to claim 175 points. Under the new rules, they will only be able to claim the 175 points if they claimed 10 points in an area of absolute skills shortage for skilled employment and 15 points for work experience in an area of absolute skills shortage. Without those bonus points, they could only get 150 points which is not enough.

My question is how was it possible if they didn't have any qualification? Were they exempted from the qualification requirements because they earn $104,000 annually?

    Thanks.

perhaps better to wait until the new INZ Instructions are published ("soon") and then check your situation then.

"soon" . INZ have indicated that it should be published early July, but I've never seen actual changes published until just a few days before they are due to be implemented.
It would be nice to think it would be shortly after the last selection under current instructions on 19 July
