Default Essential skills visa holder-inability yo support partner

    Good morning j and m,

There is a new immigration policy regarding essential skills visa holder with regards to inability to support a partner.

Will this apply to all? Or this is only for those who did not meet thesalary threshold?

There is an announcement from INZ here, with some questions and answers. https://www.immigration.govt.nz/abou...-work-settings Notice, this is still not the full statement of detailed regulations, which it says will appear in the next short while.

This statement says that it's the families of lower skilled Essential Skills visa holders, which is defined in the "remuneration bands" section there, who will not be granted visas in the future. It also says, "Families of lower-skilled Essential Skills visa holders already in New Zealand will be able to remain here for the duration that the Essential Skills visa holder remains legally in New Zealand."
