Drink driving under post study work visa

Hi there, this is my first time posting.
I would just like to seen some information or advice regarding my situation. I was caught drink driving 3 nights ago with eba of 606. I am yet to be summoned to court and haven't sentenced yet. I have read some threads about drink driving but its either they got a partner here or applying for permanent residency. I have only been in New Zealand for 1 and a half year and started on a student visa. My concern is can I still extend my work visa through Post study -Employer Assisted work visa as my employer is willing to help and support me? How can I obtain a character waiver since this is just my first offence but a serious one? Do I need a licensed immigration adviser for my case? Please and thank for those who can give an idea.
