Default When to extend Temporary Visa?

    Hi,

What is the latest I can wait to apply to extend work visa (Partnership)?

E.g. 8 weeks or 4 weeks etc before expiry?

Otherwise I can ring INZ (just the wait times are so busy)

Your obligation is to apply for a new visa, before the expiry date of your current visa (or leave NZ). An application can be made while you are lawfully in NZ, so you actually have until the date of expiry date of your current visa to apply. it may though take 2-10 weeks currently to be decided, depending on where it is processed. You will receive an interim visa on the expiry of your current visa with the same terms and conditions, which means you can remain lawfully in NZ until the new application is decided, or 6 months, which ever comes first.
