Does anyone have any experience with, or clue as to the following:

Came on WHV; employed.
Lodged SMC; applied for Essential Skills, for which a labour market check was not necessary due to my having already been working (under a WHV) for my employer when I submitted my SMC application.
Essential skills approved through February.
Made redundant as SMC was being assessed, notified immigration.
Essential skills visa still active.

If I receive a job offer from another employer, same occupation, can I apply for a VOC and if so will they need to do the labour market check? My understanding is that with a VOC the labour market check is not done because it's considered to have been handled with the original application of Essential Skills for that occupation in that region.
