Default ITA recevied. Does partner eligibility affect main applicant?

    Hi,

I have received ITA. My application includes my partner.
My SMC points are solely based on my own and does not rely on her.

If she does not meet certain requirements (for example fail to meet English requirement), will my residency application be declined too?

The partner's ineligiblity COULD stop the main applicant from getting a residence visa, but this would usually be on the grounds of health or character, or failure to prove 12 months' partnership.

If it's just that your partner can't meet the English requirements, you would need to opt for pre-paying for ESOL lessons. https://www.immigration.govt.nz/opsmanual/66781.htm She could then be granted residence along with you.
