Default EOI - Points for Skilled Employment?

    Hi,
I'm doing my EOI at the moment and hope to get 160 points. I have a 3 years Essential Skills Work Visa (Chef ANZSCO Level 2) and working since almost 1 year.
With the points calculator I'm wondering about the point Skilled Employment, if I get points for that because my payrate is under NZ$23.49 per hour. I have no recognised qualification as Chef, but hope to claim enough points for my university degree (doing IQA as well). I'm also unsure if I have already enough relevant work experience as Chef. But it's on the Long Term Skill Shortage List.
I would be very thankful for any information if I can already get points for skilled employment for my EOI.
    Thank You!

Have a look at the detailed regulations. https://www.immigration.govt.nz/opsmanual/66785.htm Working things out this way is a lot more accurate than relying on the calculator.

Thank You JandM. I carefully read through and under SM6.20 Calculating remuneration it clarifies some of my questions .It looks like that with $18/h I will never get a chance for claiming points.
But I it is still quite complicated there. For example if I can still get points because of the job itself is skilled employment +in an area of absolute skills shortage (afaik) + outside the Auckland region.

Yes, this whole area is VERY complicated. It's all down to each individual's exact circumstances.

So the case officer assess each individual depending on their different circumstances, correct?

Regarding the manual, I've just seen here https://www.immigration.govt.nz/opsmanual/6954.htm that there is a complete new manual "Skilled Migrant Category (to 27/08/2017)" here: https://www.immigration.govt.nz/opsmanual/66764.htm which says
Note: The instructions contained in this section cease to be effective from 28/08/2017
. The regulations are different in a lot of things, but this must now be the legal one??

There is a big change to rules apply to SMC start effective at 27/8/2017, SMC application lodged before 27/8/2017 still apply to old rules, which are those Operation Manual that stated (to 27/08/2017).

SMC application lodged on or after 27/8/2017 apply to new rules, which are those Operation Manual that stated (start effective at 27/8/2017).

I read your post, you still not submitted EOI right? Then your application will apply toi new rules, don't read those old Manual page stated (to 27/08/2017).

That is all correct. And you will see that the link I gave you is to the page about skilled employment in the NEW regulations.

Damn, yes you are right, I mixed up these documents. And the new rules are much stricter, for example there was no minimum payrate per hour included :-/.
