General Visitor Visa - Parents
Hello folks,
I am planning to invite my parents for a visit next year for 2 months, however, I need some inputs as I am currently on WTR visa and I cannot sponsor them.
Travel & Accommodation:
1.Do I have to book the return tickets before applying for the visa?
2.Do I have to book accommodation for them? I have a tenancy agreement on my name - can I use that for their accommodation?
Medicals:
1. My mother and father age is 67 and 76 years respectively - Do i have to go through for any medical process or are they exempted since they are just going to be visiting for 2 months
Funds:
1. Are the bank statements with Fixed Deposits and Equity holdings sufficient with balance of more than 10000$ or should the funds be available in the current or savings account? Do they have to be in both the accounts?
2. Can I also show my bank statements, payslips, employment agreement & provide a support letter stating they are my parents?
Partnership:
1. Do I have to show any evidence of their partnership? or is it better to go for two different applications?
Bona fide:
I am a bit concerned with this section as both of them are retired:
1. Will the property papers and bank statement suffice for proving if they are bonafide?
What else can I show for proving they are bona fide?
Thanks for your support.

Hi I am in the same boat as you.
Trying to bring them for 6 to 9 months by Feb 2018. I have not yet applied. I have drafted two applications for both parents in RealMe account. My wife works in NZ, so, she will provide a sponsorship form I guess. I am out of NZ for now. We are NZ residents.
If you apply for less than 6 months then NO medicals or chest x ray are needed.
Yes you need to book two way tickets to prove that they will return. This will assure CO that parents will return after 2 months.
All the funds related questions: I guess it is enough.
Show anything to demo strong family ties in home country , House, bank statement, income pension, properties etc.
Never mention about parents doing child care in NZ.
Somewhere I saw this reply from INZ for a rejected case due to:
1) You have no international travel records.
2) Current evidence on file is not sufficient to show you have strong employment tie in XXX.
3) You have not provided sufficient evidence to demonstrate your overall circumstance in XXX is favourable.
I am thinking to collect all papers to demonstrate strong ties in home country.
Hope we get more info here regarding your other questions.
