    Default ITA Lodgement September/October 2017

    Hi everyone,

This thread is for all of us who have sent their SMC applications (ITA+documents) in the month of September/October 2017. Let's hangout with the latest updates here.

I submitted my application on October 17th, thereby officially enrolling myself in the maddening waiting game.

Thank you all for your contribution!

Sorry couldn't complete this post due to a technical glitch (possibly) but here's what I wanted to say:

As per the last three draws, the number of EOIs selected has dropped(600-ish to 400-ish). Does this mean faster processing times for SMC applicants? Any thoughts welcome?

I would make a distinction between processing time and waiting time. As the backlog (that resulted from the halt in July and August while the new regulations were published) clears, if the qualifying number of EOIs submitted and selected remains steady at about 400, then time spent by each case waiting in the normal date-order queues for each process should decrease. The routine for processing each case remains the same, and each case is individual, though, so that won't be affected, and remains unpredictable.

What has happened previously is now increasingly irrelevant,as EOI and soon SMC application processing is centralised to Auckland

    https://www.immigration.govt.nz/abou...centralisation

    SMC EOI centralisation

From August 2017, all EOI’s have been centralised into the Manukau Area Office and are being managed by a single dedicated team of Immigration Officers.
While there have been some delays in EOI assessments being made as staff come to grips with the new EOI form and SMC instructions, the team are expected to be back in flow before the end of this month.

In the meantime, an email address has been created for you to send any questions or concerns you may have in relation to an EOI that has been submitted but not yet assessed.

Thanks ChrisMwn. This is quite informative. But the applications submitted through LIAs will still be assessed at Henderson, I suppose?
