2 weeks notice for next temp visa

Hi,

I have a little problem with INZ saying that if you‘re in New Zealand on a temporary visa and you need another temporary visa, you should apply at least two weeks before your current visa expires since I will not be able to stay within that time frame:

My current Visa runs out on:
13/11/2017

That means that I should apply before:
27/10/2017

However, I am still waiting for documents that are going to be here not later than:
08/11/2017

At least I will apply for the next visa before my current Visa actually runs out. As INZ uses the word should I think I am still able to hand in my application later than 27/10/2017...? The exception proves the rule?

As long as you lodge an application while your present visa is still current, even right at the last minute, you are still legal, and INZ can issue an interim visa to keep you legal while your application is processed.
