Default Change of Job after Residency

    Hi

Just a general question is it ok to change to a different job once residency is approved. Do not have any condition on the label.

Just heard from one of our friend that his Residency was revoked as the address of his business from which he got residency has changed to a new one.

    Thank you
    Riki

If the residence has been GRANTED - that is, label in the passport, not just 'approved' on the website or AIP letter received - and there are no conditions, then there is no restriction at all on what the person does for work.

About the friend, I don't think we have the full story - it doesn't make sense as it stands. A residence visa does not get revoked for a change of address - that is for some crime, or fraud, having been discovered. If the friend's residence had a condition on it that he must stay in the same job for a certain length of time, and because of the change of address, someone thought he had not done that, that is the kind of thing that could be sorted out by talking to the employer, checking that they are the same business.

Thank you JandM for clarifying my question
