Default Passport expiring in a year

    Hi,

I am applying for work to residency (accredited employer), however my passport is expiring within an year, if my application is successful will I be getting a visa only valid till my passport expiry and will I need to apply for the whole thing again next year?
    M
Also, my SMC application is in progress as well, is the above true for SMC also or will it be a different case?

    Thanks

You might expect that the talent visa would be approved for the full 30 months, but the visa label issued for one or three months less than the expiry date of your passport depending on whether it can be renewed in new Zealand.
An application for transfer of label would need to be made later and fee paid for issue of label for balance of duration of visa.

There are no issues with your SMC application as any residence visa could be issued into your new passport.
