Hi there,

I will be applying for permanent resident visa from resident visa in a few months.

I'm wondering if another police certificate is required? The immigration website says:

"You may need to provide Police Certificates as proof of your good character.
If you need to provide a Police Certificate, we’ll let you know."

It's unlikely to be required. I think this wording is just making the point that they CAN ask for one, but in practice, it next to never happens. As it says, they would let you know, but it's not something you need to bother about unless they do.

"You may need to provide PCC" thing is if you have been in any other country other than NZ for more than 3 months... This is my understandng.

They will get a police certificate for New Zealand, but you don't have to apply for it separately, it is all in the form you are signing.
