Congratulations Steve! I checked your past posts, but wasn't sure why it would take 4 years. Looks like there were questions about NZQA and work, but not sure what else. Actually I had 2 employers ready to go and then they backed out thus postponing the dream.
3rd times the charm. Got an essential skills visa and will be applying for a SMC as soon as possible.
Not sure what the time frame on essential skills usually is but for us it was super fast. We had to apply through Washington DC but from time we sent all our stuff off to having our passports back with the visa was 8 days. Not business days, 8 actual days. And most of that was courier time.
