Skilled Migrant Advice - job not on skill shortage

The job of a graphic designer is not on the skill shortage lists - however, with an excellent job offer would it be possible to pursue a visa via the Skilled Migrant route?

The vital end point is to achieved permanent residence and ultimately citizenship - would SM be the best option for a skilled Senior Graphic Designer - or would you suggest a different route?

Anyone any experience or advice welcome - thanks!

Have you thought of upskilling ? Our designer just upskilled from a Designer to a 1st year Web developer, got a job a nice job offer then left us. i originally started out as a designer 11 years ago then upskilled to a developer two years later.

So it seems to me if I understand correctly if you have a skill (even though it's not of the SSLs) you can go via SMC so long as you can achieve (pref. comfortably) above 160+

Anyone advise against this?

No need for comfort. 160 is all that is required.
Typically an under 30 year old, with a skilled job offer, qualified and experience would have no issues in amassing the required points.
