    Default After Essential Skills Visa

    So any recommendations for staying permanently after gaining an essential skills visa? We are planning on going the SMC route but wasn’t sure if there was maybe an easier way. We still have 32 months left on the essential skills visa, so lots of time left but curious if there was another option beyond the SMC.

    There is no direct way forward to Residence from Essential Skills. You would need to apply under SMC, as you thought.
