I know they tried to implement this a few weeks ago and weren't successful - fingers crossed it'll work this time around. It'll be perfect timing for our upcoming application.

Is that for offshore applicants as well?

Yes, I believe so. Wording from the FAQ:

Who can use the online Partner or Child visa application form?
People applying for a visa as a partner or dependent child of a family member who is a New Zealand citizen, resident, visa holder or visa applicant can use the new online form to apply to join their family in New Zealand.

Yes, it's been a long time coming! Looks like it's up and running from the Immigration Online page now :-)

Hi everyone, i want to ask if one is on an Essential Skills Work Visa:

    1) Which Visa is best for his wedded wife?
    2) Which Visa is best for his 8 year old child who is in primary school?
    3) Which Visa is best for his 2 year old child?
    4) Lastly is there a wait period stipulated by INZ from the time the ESWV is granted to the time partner and children can apply their visas?

    Thanks

    just try to answer:

    1. if he's holding a mid-skilled ES visa and his wife planning to work then apply a partner of worker work visa.
    2. Child of a Worker student visa
    3. Child of a Worker visitor visa
    4. No, you actually can apply all at the same time

NB: this will be a different story if he's holding a low-skilled ES visa, so just make sure the type of his ES visa first.

You can Google and find INZ factsheets for each of these visas, which give details of the evidence required and the process to be followed.
